Can I install DDR2 533mhz with 400mhz

My system came with 256mb of 400mhz memory, I will receive a 512mb 533mhz module today. Can they work together for the moment??? until I buy another 512mb of 533mhz

Yes you can, but the 533mhz RAM will clock down to 400mhz. I don't forsee a large performance increase in running 533mhz ram to necessarily justify the money spent on the upgrade of your 400mhz chip, unless you are running very memory intensive applications.

ya i did that today i am now running at 768 ram at 400mhz, i figure having more ram thats a tad slower is better for now. Eventually i'll buy another stick of 512.

I cant wait, it's delayed for tomorrow, world of warcraft is unplayable at 256mb or ram
