Inspiron 9300 Order Status - Page 4

Yes!
Check this out from Dell: BOXING

"There seeem to be a lot of you who are concerned because you think that your computer is just sitting there wating to be boxed for days. It's actually in transit from the Dell manufacturing facility in Malaysia, where it was built and tested, to the Dell Nashville facility, from where it will ship. This process usually takes about 3 business days, with one additional day for packaging and shipment from Nashville There is no need for concern as this is completely normal. Thanks."

I beleive the issues with orders being stuck here are not regarding boxing, but like myself, in the Kitting stage just sitting their for 4 days now...

mbman, did you try calling the automated order status number. The information there seems to be a little more updated. The number is: 800-433-9014. Have your order number ready when you call.

Yes, it's in production status, at the build stage according to the phone system. Just like it seems to be saying for everyone who's web order status is frozen. The building stage only takes like a couple hours for every system i've ordered. They are stuck in this building stage because the dell rep said 9300 systems are on a 10 day back log and should be shipping the 18th.

Seems like the online system is way behind. I am still just getting "Inproduction" online and "Build" on the phone, this is the second day it has done this. Hopefully it getting to me soon. On another note, does anyone know if the 3 day delay for the Truelife display applies to all previous orders, or just orders placed today and into the near future?

I ordered a 9300 thru Home and it was in 'Testing' within a day. Unfortunately I had to cancel to change the configuration. Next one made it to 'Boxing' within a day, maybe a day and a half. Unfortunately I had to cancel that one too and re-order thru Small Business (only way I could get Complete Care in FL). Now my order is inProduction like many others here, with none of the production steps highlighted/clickable.

I think the website is updating, its actually not being built is the problem. There is a 10 day lead on 9300 systems. The phone system is telling all of us, patiently waiting, that it's being built. Eta start ship date is on the 18th for those of us whose status is 'stuck'. You can try the community forums at Dells web page to confirm or get specifics for your own system.

That's ok, every day it takes them to build it, is another day where a better deal might come along and force me to cancel and re-order again. As long as I get it within the next 30 days or so, I'll be happy....besides, maybe they'll run out of their stock of DDR Geforce 6800's and start putting the the DDR3 versions

Yeah, but surely some systems are being built as we speak, while others are waiting in the back log, right? This is presuming they have all the parts. It sounds like the backlog was caused be so many orders, though, which would mean that older orders should be being built, assuming they are building them in order. I ordered mine and got payment approval on Saturday. It didn't go into Production until Wednesday morning. I've seen at least one person who ordered on Monday already have a status of "Boxing".

This is all just stupid. I need to get a life beyond waiting for my laptop. I do not have a life threating laptop deficiency that I need to be worrying about my order status all day and trying to figure out in with endless what-ifs about why my order is taking so long.

Ok, gotta go. It's time to check my order status. Both online and by phone.

Sonicwind, don't worry....I am doing the same thing. I have probably called the automated order status line 3 times already today and its barely even 6pm here. hahahaha....don't ask me how many time I have checked it online because I just have a window up on that page that I regularly hit refresh.

I wish Dell would just give me my computer soon, so that they don't have all their internet and phone resources dwindled by people like me! sign....

Luology, I just called the phone system and mine says the same thing as the online page.... "testing". If things don't straighten up by tomorrow morning, when the CS reps are open again, you might wanna give them a call. If you ordered through SB, you can call them at this number: 1-800-879-3355 Ext. 7261843
The wait time is usually less than 5 min and there is usually someone American to talk to.

Hey, maybe when they scanned your computer at the plant to go from build to testing, that person acidentally hit a backward key or something, so it now says kitting. Its totally possible because its slightly past 2pm on a Friday afternoon in Malaysia and everyone wants to go home for the weekend. TGIF Malay style.
