The MCE2005 TV tuner/remote could be available within a month. Now the question is, it worth still carrying the old TV tuner?!?!

In the 9860, to go from the current TV tuner available to this MCE tuner/remote option would be close to $100 extra, then the cost of XP MCE2005 will be around $40 over Windows XP Home.

The different TV tuner will work with XP Pro and not require MCE2005, but the old TV tuner will not work with XP MCE2005.

I voted yes - but still want to know why Luke got punched in the face.

So is this new MCE 2005 compatible TV tuner external instead of internal?

I know you have the photo up above, but is this the only way it would be offered? I'd want it internal myself - otherwise it's just something more to carry around.

But I'm definitely interested in MCE '05.

I prefer internal, otherwise it more stuff to lug around

I voted no; however, that is before I realized that it was an external unit. If it is external, then I'd have to change my vote to yes. Also, not everyone wants the new O/S so they should continue to have all options available to them.

The new one is indeed internal, the white box is a remote receiver and the IR blaster to control cable boxes.

Ok now I already have Windows MCE and I have the remote and I/R blaster when can I get the tuner???

I vote no. The NEW internal card is all you need. I have the OS and the remote package. Can I buy the NEW internal card separate? About how much will just the card be?

I got totally confused by that poll. I'm sure it said something different before - I remember it having a double-negative and had to think about it Look how far that got me!

So why'd Luke get punched in the face? Come on, we want to know!

wow....i'm going to get this as soon as its released. i think the remote and stuff is cool, but if it is going to cost a lot more to get a reciever and a remote, i dont need that stuff. why would you need a remote when you are sitting right in front of it?....but then again, i dont care.....its still cool.

A remote receiver? That thing is huge! I'm glad to hear the tuner is internal, though.

Is the remote IR or RF? Can we just have this new internal tuner, MCE, and use a different programmable remote with the 9860's built in IR receiver?

I wouldn't want to have to mess with this external receiver.
