So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.

I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...

Assuming its XP (you wouldnt want to use anything else anyway), it should be fine. Just make sure you have your sager driver disk handy, since you will need it once windows is installed. Also, if your CD is an upgrade, make sure u have an older OS version handy, as it has to check for that. But yeah, it should be too hard for ya. And, we are always here to help!
You should work out before how you want to partition your disk (if at all). Personally, I prefer to have a separate partition for Windows (allow 5GB at least) and my data, so that when Windows screws up I can reformat C: and raw install without losing my personal data.
That said, XP hasn't needed reinstalling since I first raw-installed it, which is a first for any MS operating system that I have ever owned.
The upgrade from ME to XP lasted a week though, and then I lost the whole C drive.
No, it needs to be a full install disk (if your Win XP disk is an upgrade). it can be as old as 95, and i bet you got one of those somewhere. Or ME, etc...
No.. it will recoginze this computer as the wrong one, and wont do it. You need to buy a copy of Windows XP Pro. Buy the upgrade if you have a REAL Windows 95, 98, 98se, 2000, or ME disk laying around. Buy the full if you dont have any one of those.
Originally posted by xindan80 do you make those two partitions during the windows install? or do you use something like partitionmagic 8? can you tell me how?
The WinXP installer has partitioning options built in.
oh, i was wondering if I could give the OS partition the minimum amount of disk space needed for windows to install.. and will there be any ramifications?
