533Mhz FSB Pentium M 2.0Ghz Inspiron 9300
256Mb Nvidia Gforce 6800 GO
1920x1200 Ultrasharp Truelife WUXGA 17" TFT LCD
1 Gb RAM
100Gb Fujitsu HDD
Definitely very respectable framerates. Edited the post to reflect his scores with the water turned on full detail as well. I'm definitely impressed to say the least.

He also mentioned that the build of the 9300 is very good and much better than previous laptops. The lcd screen according to him is glossy but it isn't so bad where it obstructs your view and he mentioned that it is very bright. He described the quality to be as good as a flat screen crt which is excellent.

Yeah that sucks since I doubt a better deal will come anytime soon. Tell them to read this forum as proof. HEY GOFFER'S PARENTS, THERE WILL BE NO BETTER DEAL!

Damn dude you're making me jealous. I got a POS tv since I hardly ever watch any shows. Any DVD I rent I view on my PC and I just download the tv shows I like (BSG, Stargate, Trek, Anime).

oh how ive tried... they say i need to stick with it more and be patient and the irony is they went and bought a new 2005 expodition just by looking in the paper, spent about 2 hours looking.

I have been buying DELL laptops for years - the deal I got on the i9300 from Small Business yesterday, in my opinion, will be tough to beat.

Wow! My 8600 that i got last week gets the same FPS in the stress test at 1280x768 with settings on medium, that you get with settings on high at 1920x1200.

Of course i only have 512mb of ram, but still.

Anyone have any idea how long battery life is on 9300?

It definetly looks pretty sweet! But im not paying that much for a laptop until they make 17" that weighs under 5lbs, has at least a 160 GB 7200 drive, and battery life thats over 5hours on the standard battery.

Yes, the same guy says he gets 2.5 hours on the 9-cell with speedswitch and nvidia's powermiser set on "max battery."

Ok, I like Stargate, too. (Even though there are so many technical holes in the show, it's still very cool and entertaining.) But what is "BSG"? Cause I'm about out of Stargate episodes. (I don't watch TV, too much, so I don't know what shows are on. I've just been getting all the Stargate episodes from NetFlix.)

BSG=Battlestar Galactica, its an excellent sci-fi show. A re-make of an old 70s show but completely different and much better. Go on scifi.com to read about it.

Indeed, I can't wait for season 2 to start.

BSG rocks! Although the gender change of Boomer and Starbuck took a little getting used to.

So how many of us were kids back in the 70's who watched it?? Umm, count me in.
