dude, that makes no sense that you would use your $100 coupon to buy it for yourself if we prove it works...where is the benefit in that for us...lol

ya'll need to hold your britches, b/c the thing is on the fedex truck in out for delivery status. i think fedex had some issues while in Utah so it was delayed there. so now i gotta stay home until the friggin thing arrives

I demand you wait by the front door, and jump out yelling "Fed-Ex?" every time someone goes by!

Can we start a betting pool on whether this will work or not?

I've got $5 on "No," because I'm a pessimist.

Not so good...laff is having trouble with it. XP is picking it up as an MMC card, not BT. He posted it in another thread.

I just went through the Texas Instruments PCI7620/PCI7420/PCI6620/PCI6420 Implementation Guide and I didn't find anything about explicit sdio support for secure digital cards... just for ms_sdio (memory stick). Where did you guys get the information from (that the 700m sd-reader is sdio capable)??

Did anyone figure out if this worked or not?

Slightly off-topic. Just posting for perspective (would be interesting for you American folks to discover just how much parts really cost to manufacture)...

I bought my USB Bluetooth dongle last year for CN„100 (<US$12) at retail in Beijing, China.

It'd be nice to have BT internally, but for now, the USB dongle will just have to do for me.

the sdio does not work with the 700m.

the TI chipset in the 700m is sdio capable, but for some reason, maybe not enough juice or something, it doesn't work. i was informed by dell that it should work, as well as talked to TI about the chipset.

as far as bluetooth solutions, i am using a 3com pc card which is great. others are using zoom, and i know some folks that are using the CF + pc card adapter. the 3com and the cf + pc card are flush, where the zoom sticks out just a hair

the problem with the dongle for certain people like me is that i want something that i do not have to worry about breaking off or having to remove and insert every time.

another negative on the sdio was that it stuck out 1/2 inch and it being very thin wasn't practical, might as well just go with the usb dongle.

i had just talked to someone who had the socket sdio which is the same thing as the toshiba sdio since toshiba makes it. he had gotten his to work on a differnt computer. i think more playing around would have found a work around solution. considering that my 3com needed some work around to work with bluetooth manager software, i'm thinking that the sdio card may have been more a software driver issue. from re-reading toshiba's data on the sdio, it does require software support which exists for the sdio. so i'm thinking you need the right software. if i still had it, i would try to work around i have for the 3com pc card that i have. but like i said, i would not have kept it anyways, b/c it stuck out too much to be safe
