System makers will get an system installer key that can be used for pre-installation or pre-activated installations, but that WILL NOT BE the key on your certificate of authenticity sticker.
If you were to use a cd-key viewer like magic jelly bean keyfinder, a user will often see his key does not match the one used by the pc maker during installation. That is normal.
But YOUR cd key should work on a proper OEM XP CD.
Your sticker is what? XP Pro, OEM rtm, sp1 or sp2?
