And Omega is still on 5.1... It will be 4th month with not-omega drivers for me.

I do not know what they've done in 5.3 but my usual score in 3DMark05 with no tuning/overclocking was around 1360 and this time I've got 1672 - I hope not all points of the difference are originated from special new 3DMark optimization . Comparing new and old results in 3DMark's ORB I see big performance improvement in all tests. Old results are 6.1, 3.7 and 7.1 fps, new results are 8.0, 4.3 and 8.8 fps.

CS:S Stress Test with same settings.

MR9800

92.96 fps Omega 5.1

74.40 fps ATI 5.3

Wow Omega is quiet behind looks like now that 5.3 is already out.

Quite behind perhaps, but it's a driver that's still faster than Catalyst 5.3. Kinda like the 2004 Ferrari F1 is still faster than many of the 2005 F1 cars.

I own the I6000 with the WUXGA screen. If I remove the Dell ATI drivers and install the Catalyst drivers will they allow me to get the native resolution of 1900x1200 that the screen requires?
I'm running the Omega drivers at 1920x1200 on my XPS WUXGA and they are based on the Catalyst drivers....no problem.

Err so verdict is stick with Omegas??? Cause I have the 5.1 Omegas...

Should be able to - works with the XPS Gen1, at least.

Okay, please please help me@!@@ I've been running 5.3s okay lately... I tested early today on the CS Source and got a 70 fps average, which is about 8 fps lower than what I was getting a week ago. I decided to try out the Omega 5.1s to see what that would do, I got an average of 66fps. So I uninstalled those and got back to the 5.3 cats and now my average is 61 fps... WTF ??? Someone please help me restore my performance Since then I've ran adaware, search & destroy, and did a complete HD defragment, and still 61 fps.

I always image my system when changing drivers, makes life so much easier when deciding to go back...
Check your cards settings. High Quality/Performance, and the Vsync option

daNichex6: I'd uninstall both versions of the drivers and use Drivercleaner to make sure they are all gone. Then pick which driver you want (Omega or Catalyst, up to you) and install it. This should be "clean" so there won't be any conflicts in there.

Run a system restore if you have a restore point a few days ago

What is a good 'drivercleaner'?.....or is there a program called 'DriverCleaner'?
I looked around Tucows awhile ago, but I couldn't find anything definitive; other than lack of time, it's the only thing keeping me from getting on the 'swap out the vid driver' bandwagon. I'm still using Dells on Doom3 and KotOR. There seems to be some difference of opinion of which driver is best for which game, but it seems fairly universal that Dells are subpar.

I need a good drivercleaner so I can get out of the gate. Thanx.

Installed it and will go back to my previous version... my 3Dmark are going down and and I don't like what is does when I restart my PC... it always refresh the loging screen and does that again once I have logged on...

So, everyone with MR9800 does not like the 5.3. I have MR9700 and my 3DMark05 score is much higher then when I used any other driver. Does anyone else with MR9700 tryed 5.3?

Doom3 temo1 yelds pretty same result as usual. Far Cry looks a bit faster, HL2 - a bit slower.
