I sent my ailing 5670 in for RMA.

all kinds of shit failed on it.

it didn't last another year after being "repaired to like new" status.

yeah the paint on the left side on mine near the keyboard/palmrest area wore off very easy on my 5660. I don't really care about aesthetics like that though. I think the people paying hundreds for custom paint jobs are nuts really. My lcd latch broke and they sent me a free new one without question despite the fact the warranty had already expired. that was pretty easy for me to replace, especially with the help of pictures and instructions someone posted in this forum. hope they don't make you pay big money for the fixes you need. just be glad your mobo isn't toast like mine after the warranty expired. mine is only useful for spare parts at this point and there doesn't seem to be too many people anxious to buy the spare parts.

Yeah, Strawberry milk spilled into the keyboard area has a nasty habbit of causing failures. http://notebookforums.com/showthread...820#post530820 Dont be misleading us.

How long did you wait (from when the lid casing/latch broke) until you contacted Sager? If you continured using the machine and compounded the problem, I'd say that the bad engineering may be genitic's related and not the fault of Sager.

Chill out - everything breaks - That's why we purchase insurance/warranties.

yeah, i got a little drink into the keyboard its self. not inside the computer anywhere. sent it to sager and they confirmed this. so back it up a bit. haha.

ill never buy sager again. "."

next purchase is another apple product.

If the machine was "falling to pieces" a week after you got it you should have returned it for a full refund. If you bought it used; then what can I say - you bought someone else's problem.

I like that "Son" part (I'm 52) and the real depth of the experience you present in audio and you lack of judgement on buying the "best machine" for the intended purpose. Buyer's remorse or was it just a failure to research that is the real cause of your complaints. The 5670, as I recall, is a bit older than a couple of months.

Fix it, sell it, and be gone. Not everyone needs a Sager nor is a Sager the right machine for everyone. Just a fact of life.

Bahahaha...

Sounds like a little boy...

I have a 6month old powerbook G4 and from the way in which it seems you treat your laptops, you're in for a very expensive surprise... I wonder if you will live and learn...

My Powerbook is much more fragile than my old 5660, mostly because it is about 5x thinner. The sager has dealt with forces that would have snapped the apple in half. And funnily enough, the plastic of the sager has less dents in it than the metal Titanium composite of the powerbook, even though the sager has had about 3 times the life.

By the way, PC Adobe Audition rules for user-compatibility professional-spec sound manipulation (Yay for Win2k), whereas Mac is still rather lacking in that software department...

God the new "pretty" OSX.4 cloggs up the system performance even with 6month old 17" powerbook :S I didn't think there would be anything worst than winXP :S

Lookin forward to dual G5s!
