Emachine 6810 freeze when attempting a fresh install of windows xp pro sp2

Bios updated to 0F08 already. When I tried to do a fresh install of xp sp2, it freezes after it says "setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..." Nothing happens forever, just blank screen. However, it doesn't have this problem if I install a xp pro without sp2. I have no idea what went wrong, any help is appreciated!

The CD is not slipstreamed correctly. I messed up mine to the point it would only work on 4k cluster size and nothing bigger. I run 16k/16k cluster/stripe on my raid array and simply gave up on the slipstreaming.

I followed the directions to a "T" and tried several time with to no avail. Just install the 2 seperate.

The CD was being used to install other desktop/laptops many times successfully w/o any problems. I also tried friend's CD with same error.

Or you can just install Pro, and have SP2 on a seperate disk and save yourself the trouble, unless you cant stand waiting the extra 10 min to update to SP2 after pro is loaded.

I created a script to run the SP2 install completely automated, so you don't have to even sit and click on every little dialogue box M$ throws at you.
