You can download it from the dell support site for the i9100 and XPS. It says it fixes the standby issues these computers have. Its about time.

Finally!!! I've had the standby issues and was was starting to think that I had a defective laptop, but was reluctant to wait 10 months to get it fixed, so this is a big plus. Thanks for the update!

Just a little sidenote on what this new BIOS offers:

Systems: Dell Inspiron 9100
Version: A06
Build Date: 03/08/05

Issues Fixed:
1. Fixed the issue in which fans sometime are on high speed after S3 resume.
2. Fixed the issue in which Windows flash utility intermittently fails.
3. Updated copyright year.

Enhancements:

The BIOS release has been validated on the following operating systems:
1. Microsoft Windows XP

Same problem here

Same here - maybe it was recalled? Remember problems with A04 BIOS?

I couldn't get the file either---maybe Dell just put up the information and will be uploading the file later on. To me, that's just stupid, so hopefully there's some sort of explanation.

baka!

Well i dont think ill bother as i dont use standy/resume and no idea what relevance copyright year has to my laptop so maybe when something big is updated, ill risk it
While im here, my 9100 is getting a new motherboard put in. I usually reinstall windows when changing mobos but ive never changed one for the exact same one, so was wondering if it will redetect everything or just come on like nothing has happend.. ( im funny about this stuff )

It may redetect the devices, but since you have the drivers already it should be fine.

'Course, I would back up anything you can't recreate easily anyway - you can't be too carfeul. This way, if for whatever reason it doesn't work you can reinstall Windows and you won't lose anything critical.

Win XP might want to be reactivated but no new devices actually will be added to the system, so nothing will need to be reinstalled.
