Hmm... Fn+Z+R not working after flashing... :/ weird...

Err...maybe there is a reason why Dell took off the A06 bios...shouldnt we wait for the updated and fixed version when it finally gets posted?

If it ain't broke...

yep, fan control does not work now! holy crap!

People, don't just flash with that BIOS. Japanese key layouts are totally different than ours! There are probably other little nuances that might end up driving you nuts too.

FWIW: There is no difference between notebook system BIOS versions hosted on the japanese, US, or euro Dell ftp sites. Looking at the readme for these BIOS files or at the initial Dell splash will show they are multilanguage releases.

Really? So why is there no Fn-Z-R? Does the readme say anything about it??

seems different!

How does it seem different? other than the FN + Z + R fan control not working, everything else seems to be functioning swimmingly. Other FN functions seem to be working, including volume control and LCD brightness.

I could never justify not having fan control, I need it when I overclock.

Yep same here. The only problem is the fan control.

The A06 still does not fix the standby problem...
thats because ther is something wrong with the bios. why do you think dell stop allowing downloads of the a06 bios. when they get it right it will be available again.
Yeah, I'm definitely gonna reflash this one when they drop the revised BIOS on the Dell site, but as it is, the XPS is workin' fine, so I'm not sweatin' it.

I do not think that what's going on with A06 can be called "dell stop allowing downloads of the a06 bios". First, you are still allowed to get it form Japaneese site. Second, if it were officially recalled, they or would wipe all references of A06 or would say it was recalled - now they lead us to the very end, make us agree with the disclaimer and then you've got not user friendly error 404... It looks like they are not aware of the download problem at all and FN + Z + R problem is another thing that probably will still be there when A06 will be available.

I am not giving up fan control for a shitty bios flash...

Maybe the final release will still have it.
Now if you go to Dell's site, A06 isn't listed any more, it is back at A05 as being the current version.

They probably found a bug, or someone posted the link before they were supposed to.
