6800 ULTRA Update from Hypersonic.

Just spoke to my boys over at HS and the ULTRA came up... The issue is not heat related. It is the fact that they do not have any of these cards available. The FUSION workstations are available to pre-order with the ULTRA but they will not have the cards in hand for at least another two weeks. They are giving a 14 day lead time from the day they get the cards in hand. They need a few days to test, build and burn in machins before they ship them.

As soon as they get them in house mine will be sent out to test with my system and the 64bit processors and OS.

But as far as a heat issue, there really isn't one. It is a supply issue.

I think you forgot to put a "yet" at the of your sentence quoted above...based on the..."supply issue."

Seriously, does the TDP of the 9860 chassis allows for an increase of another 30w to 40w(supposed difference between 6800 ultra and non ultra) on a "maxed out"(2 x 7200rpm HDs; two optical drives; all 4 memory slots full; 3.8Ghz 64bit 6-series CPU;etc) system? I'm not saying it's impossible. But it might require you to move to a house in Alaska with open windows.

How do they know the GPU works if they don't have one to test. Have they received news from clevo?
