5660 running sweet!

Had to go to Georgia for three days so I couldn't get time to let PCTORQUE know how everything was going with my Notebook. Loaded up WIN98SE no problems, then installed all drivers in IAW the manual for WIN98SE (why there's a difference in order I not sure) I'm sure it matters for something. Loaded Nero and began to burn! This thing is faster than I thought! I've left all the default setting for the ATI software because I wasn't sure what everything meant, but I'll soon figure it out. I just want to tell anyone who's looking for a machine that plays games extremely well get a 5660, there are things in Unreal Tournament I've never seen before! I shot the computer player next to a wall and splat I saw what he ate for lunch!!! I must have been playing on a really out of date system not to have seen this before. Anyway I'm very impressed with the 5660 and very impressed with PCTORQUE, they run a good business. One question though I'm running my windows resolution at 1024 by 768 at True Color and every time I exit out of a game (example Diablo) my wallpaper has gone from stretched to normal. Is this because the game requires a different resolution than windows and it just doesn't switch back? How can I fix this? Thanks

The wallpaper sounds like a problem between Windows and DirectX or another driver of that type. I have never loaded up 98 on a 5660, I'm glad it's running well! Make sure you run all the Windows updates which may take care of that.

I don't have UT2003 yet, I will get 2003 soon. I'm playing UT and I was using the sniper rifle. The prefered weapon of players who like to hide and shoot! I like the double enforcers.

Same

You have the same system as my own! Its always cool to see another just as hype as i am about my 5660! (bama) I need to get unreal 2k3, as i too have heard alot of great things about the game and how it shows the graphical power of the Ati 9k.

I also loaded win 98se. No problems. Followed manual.
This 5660 is one truly sweet machine. Machine is incredibly quiet.
Some posts had me worried. This baby is one sweet running
machine and really is some kind of fast. Pctorque is great and I have ordered more stuff. I have to throttle the bragging about my new fast laptop. This thing really keeps me excited.

Glad to see win98se is working well on there. Also glad to hear all of the great reports :-) Not as if I expected anything else, lol ;-) It is a great system.

UT2k3 definitely does show off the M9 though :-)
