yep what GB said, hey GB did you check out anandtech and see the pics from the Texas OC competition? They had all the big dogs there...insane phase changing systems

You really think it can't get much higher? I'm not trying to be funny or sarcastic or anything but speaking as a relative n00b in the dark art of Overclocking, I would have thought that a higher score would be possible...only because with air-cooling and some system tweaks I did break 10 000. I have no proof as I discarded the mark as soon as I got it because
a) the system was unstable as hell and
b) in no way shape or form was I going to run the system like that so it would not have been a real-world bench.

The other thing on my mind is that if memory serves me, DB hit 10 000+ with ease with no overclocking...I may be wrong but I think thats what he essentially did.

So bearing the above in mind I would have thought that score is eminently beatable.

But like I said, I'm no expert and wouldn't dare proclaim myself one.

DB was also on water w/ 6800 ultras, the above example uses "vapochill cooled 6800u cards" which is the extreme of extreme cooling well I take that back it's still considered extreme since your basically running -100+ C temps...but yeah those score can be improved b/c "stock volts no mod" I'm sure they will figure out how to "pencil Mod" and bump up the bolts etc.

also, I've seen FX 53's run higher than the 3265mhz, so there is still much more room for improvement...basically anything is possible as we see almost daily w/ technology...and on another note, not all cpu's and gpu's are created equal...some ust OC higher than others

I would love to see a Promeiteia <sp?> system running twin ultras on maybe a DFI sli board with an FX55....imagine that.

I LOVED the penicl mod for my Thunderbird 1.4, it kept my system going for 5yrs and its still going strong!

Hi, small world, I'm the one with the 6014 score in 3dmarok 05 you posted. Let me see if I can get one higher... Probalby won'e beat out you as everything i have is at stock cooling... But i would love to see if I can get higher.

Are the cards even stable at those speeds?

It doesn't matter. That was made for one thing only. To benchmark the hell out of them....
