Just a quick question. How much of a difference is their? Is it WORTH the extra 100 bucks?

if you have the money to blow, i'd go for it. however it's doubtful you will notice a difference in speed unless you use disk intensive applications; video editing and the like

Most desktop hard drives are 7200 so if you are looking for a complete desktop replacement then go with a 7200 rpm drive. However, hard drive speed may not be your laptops bottle neck. If you get a new Sager with a 5400 rpm hard drive though the drive will be the systems weakest component.

7200 rpm will also suck the juice out of your batteries faster...if you wanna go mobile...go with a slower hdd.

Surely, a 7200 drive will boot the system a lot quicker ?

That's a big plus, as far as I am concerned.

yes in real-life use I read that the 7200rpm HD does make a big difference

although I'm not sure how much juice it will suck, no offense, but I also read that the 7200 pulls about the same power as the 5400

so why not I say?
