glossy screens worth it?

what is so special about these glossy screens? do they make the colors more vibrant? widen the viewing angle?

It just looks better...

It does look more vibrant and also vivid...

You can live without it, but it is just very nice to have aswel...

Think of the difference between matte and glossy pictures and you'll get the idea. Also, truebrite is something that is only on glossies and looks Fabulous

The viewing angle is awesome on my Sony with x-brite glossy screen.

(As for glossy screens though, it's really mostly about the crispness of the image, and to an extent, the clarity of the RGB spectrum)

i do alot of CAD work, some spreadsheets and internet browsing. i also play games. is the glossy screen right for me? i am worried about the reflections. also, will the glossy screens be the standard form?

i have a choice between a 17" wuxga in either glossy or matte and i am having trouble deciding.
