The $100 coupon expired. But the sale price is still on though, I think.

Thanks everyone...

I've come to realize that there will never be a deal in Canada like you guys in the US have...$750 off, 30% off, etc..

That's alright though, I'm moving to Chicago in 3 months...No, I am not moving for the sole purpose of a cheap laptop..lol

Starting Northwestern Univ Grad school.

I called Dell once to complain about this, the guy told me the US Dell and the Canadian Dell were 2 different companys. What a load of hooey! Apperantly the real reason is the US market is so much larger that Dell needs to lower prices becasue of competition. I probably wont ever buy a new Dell unless its a hell of a deal.

I agree with you 100%...

But, I'm moving to Chicago in September...so problem solved.

A few of my friends have the systems shipped to US relatives. The relatives then either ship it here, or when they come in for a visit they bring it in.

It's worth it..you can save like 800-900 dollars.

Do you really have to be in a bsiness company to order Lats?

And btw, does Dell have shorter financing? Like 12 months payments instead of 48 or 36?

Dell USA plays more pricing games. Their base price is higher than in Canada but they offer phat coupons to make people think they're getting a steal as opposed to just having a lower base price. Dell Canada's deals are more moderate but hover around a lower base price. I've been watching Dell USA and Dell Canada for three months now -- Dell Canada will come out with a great deal once every month and a half or so, as good as (or close to it) anything the USA customers get, but you need to be patient. That is what I observed for the system I was pricing.

However, for my 9300, I did not have the patience and spent about $250 more than what American customers were paying for approximately the same thing with the recent coupon deals. C'est la vie.

I feel really sorry for Aus and UK customers. Dell is screwing them over big time.

I was looking at the XPS Gen 2 at dell.ca yesterday and there was the following "special offer":

"FREE 8x CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) Drive - $350 Value!
ENDS TODAY!"

Its value is 350$ but the deal is actually a 150$ deal because without the offer you would have gotten the 24X CD-RW/DVD for free (valued at 200$). So, it's a 150$ free upgrade.

Also, it says the offer "ends today", yeah right! Sure enough the offer is still on.

One must be extra careful with Dell's "special offers"....

last week's offer was way better.
I prefered the hard driver upgrade, and the price overall was cheaper.
Hope tomorrow's deal is going to be good, might buy a 6000d next week.

I was able to bargain a great price with the sales rep.

inaktive - please see other threads in centrino based notebooks regarding the current valid evalue code for the XPS2.

I am certain you will find nothing comparable for the 9300 that will come even close to this price.... around $3000(including taxes -in Alberta- and shipping).

Evalue code is: 61113 CHX2FSM

yeah, i really had my heart set on a 9300, and was looking around the 2000-2200 range, so as nice as the xps2 looks I just don;t have the money for it (even though the deal is really nice for 3000)

anyone find any coupons for the 9300?

You did do a Google search right? Search on "+Dell +Canada +coupon" Most sites are pretty crappy. edealsetc.com (?) seems to keep up to date.
