Pictures of the Sony VAIO FS550 series and Fujitsu N3510 next to each other. The fujitsu appears to have better color. the sony is brighter though

I've got to say that this is one of the more pathetic reviews I've seen, and I'm not massively biased because I have both a Sony and a Fujitsu.

But you can't tell a thing from those photos. The laptops are showing completely different images and are shot at different angles. The only semi-valid shots were the last two with the black and the red. Unfortunately the red is obviously not a side by side from the same angle.

The black is interesting, but again who knows what difference the angles make?

Compare that review with the one here in the review section, equally flawed.

Plus you cannot really tell from screenshots anyway.

Cheers

yeah its really difficult to tell from images. but there is only one shot that is an angle and thats the one showing full brightness..all the other ones seem to be straight... but the red pic shows the fujitsu is actually red the sony pink?

how does it compare to your sony and fujitsu?

The only places these ultra bright screens are useful is outdoors or in a brightly sunlit room/office.
My idea of a great screen is one that can produce an all the way black black while at the same time displaying a decent white.

Yeah, it's not much of an objective review.

More of a "I want to 'prove' some point, so I'll bias everything I write towards that end".

Garbage. Rubbish.

Well I thought it was a great review comparing the two. The sony..specifically the FS has a brighter lamp but it is so bright that the images appear to be so "washy" sometimes...looking at it in the stores like CompUSA and BestBuy....it really doesn't stack up to the balanca of colour and brightness to the Sony S series....the Fugitsu displays colour wonderfully....but then again..isn't as bright....would love to see the old Xbrite instead of the new Xbrite implemented in the Sony FS....by the way....does the Sony FS still have poor battery life?

found some pictures from someone in this forum:

http://www.msnusers.com/fujitsun3510...nw?albumlist=2

eg2: i went to fry's electronics yesterday and saw the FS in person, it is definitely much brighter than the sony s series and t series that it sat next to...almost too bright in my opinion, and yes it almost looked washed out when maxed out..i wonder if that is the reason for sucking up so much battery..they had some fujitsus there but not the new n3500 yet. i'm looking to either buying an acer or the s380 myself.
