I received my Latitude D810 yesterday and I am very pleased with it. The specs are 2.13 GHz, 1.0 GB 533 MHz RAM, 60 GB 72k HD, Intel 2915 WifFi, WSXGA+ Samsung Screen, WInXP Pro, DVD+/-RW, ATI X600 128 MB, Bluetooth.
I had originally purchased an Inspiron 8600 around Feb. 1st but I returned it because I had ordered it with a WUXGA screen and found that resolution to be way too small for my needs. I was going to re-order an 8600 with a WSXGA+ screen but when the new Latitudes using Sonomas were announced I decided to go with the D810. Turns out that was the best decision I could have made.
So far the D810 has been fantastic. It is noticably faster than my Dell 8250 3.06 GHz desktop. There is no keyboard flex (the 8600 had a very pronounced flex). The D810 has 4 USB 2.0 Ports compared to the two that came on the 8600. The Intel 2915 card has performed flawlessly. The screen has no dead pixels or noticable light leakage. My only complaint is that I did not receive the Windows XP restore CD, though a call to Dell Support and they are sending it to me no charge.
One thing that was nice about ordering the D810 from Dell Small Business was that the hard drive didn't come loaded with a ton of extra junk software (AOL etc.) like the Consumer Dells do. All I had to uninstall was the Sonic DVD software (I use Roxio instead). The drawback of Dell Small Business is that I had to pay sales tax. I did get an e-mal coupon from Dell that gave me 20% off so the total I paid including tax was $2,700.
Overall, I would highly reccomend the Latitude D810.
