Laptop draws power from the battery even when shut down? (Fujitsu N5010)

Hi,
I have been using a Fujitsu N 5010 for over a year and although I still love that machine I have started to notice that the battery is almost empty each time I let the computer sit for a long time without using it. I did a test and in 20 days (completely OFF, room temperature) it went from 100% to 1%.
I did not notice any problem (the date/time is still correct, etc.) but I wonder if this is normal.

Is that usual, and/or did any other N5010 owner notice that?

Perhaps this is why the manual says to remove the battery if you won't be using the laptop for an extended period of time? Only 20 days though... That's quite a drain.
