I just ordered a 2005FPW to use with my Dell Inspiron 600m. I stumbled upon a post in Dell Support Forums by accident that makes me think that it may not work with my machine (the 600M has a Mobility Radeon 9000 in it) -
http://forums.us.dell.com/supportfor...ssage.id=42860

I checked into the video card compatibility on Dell's web site by looking at this page, and mine is listed -
http://www1.us.dell.com/content/lear...tix&~tab=other

In addition, the video driver released on 12/01/2004 from Dell states "added 1680x1050 as supported resolution for externally attached displays", which again tells me it should work-
http://support.dell.com/support/down...leaseid=R89636

Has anybody here gotten the 600m or a laptop with a Mobility Radeon 9000 to work with the 2005FPW? Everything say's that it should work except for that post from Dell tech support.

Thank you.

In single monitor mode, I was able to run 1600x1200 on the 2400FPW, and that looked fine, but 1920x1200 would still create that black bar. I fiddled a little more with other resolutions, and I managed to get the Blue Screen of Death.

That was the end of my experiment

Hi dellbert,

I've heard rumors that if you use the Intel Centrino reference drivers from their site, you can get the full 1680x1050 of the 2005fpw. You should try that on your box.

Which are the best places to sell a Dell LCD for top dollar???..........
Man, and I just ordered a 2005FPW but I haven't recieved it yet. Oh well. It took me 2 weeks to find a place that ships the 2005FPW to military bases overseas. Pretty sure it'll be impossible to get one of these 2405s shipped here (unless someone knows someone that ships to APOs )
where do you put that monitor at your base? (sorry I don't know much about base living over there, I have this notion everything is in tents from movies and whatnot)
Ha, no tents here. I live in a dorm (which still sucks but it's better than a tent).
someone mentioned sparkles on the 2001 model... any sparkles on the 2405?
I am assuming Dell doesn't actually make any monitors. Anyone know at its core what brand is the 2405FPW? LG? Samsung?
