I talked to a Sager rep this afternoon about a swap for a 3.06 HT chip for a 3.0 HT chip so that the chip can take advantage of the new FSB. Unfortunately, they're not allowing a swap of one chip for the other or trade in value toward the old chip.
So for $1,000 you can take advantage of the new ram, a new video processor, hardware raid and a new keyboard. I'm a bit disappointed.

I'm curious, for $1000 or so, doesn't it make more sense to just sell the 8887 & buy a whole new 8890??

If you keep the CPU, why upgrade at all? Your ram will slow down (to 333 from 400), your CPU will still be a 533 bus. The only boost (and a good one, but still) would be the vid.
