Congrats on getting your machine. Let us know how you like it and do a bit of a review if you feel like it. The deal finished yesterday so no links, but basically the $3890 model on the config page now 760/770 version was starting at $2618 so you can probably work it out from there. Also you could stack that $300 off voucher at the top of the page.

Cheers

Are there any non dell drivers (omegas)for the 6800go card that give the boost in performance that the omegas did for the 9800 card ?
Yeah there are Omegas for Nvidias, but they are a little slower coming out, so I think the drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com are a better bet for the GeForces.

Time is running out though...

Just put mine through, was unfortunately only able to make use of the 33% off and free video. They won't let me do the further 300 bucks off as I'm not buying over the Web. Which is bullshit but what can you do...

Finally I will have the 6800Go... Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Any idea how long this thing will take to ship?

WTF??? EXTRA 300bucks ofoff??? where?? i ordered mine over the web... got the 33% discount and free video card upgrade BUT didnt see any extra $300 discount??????

okai.. just got off the phone with dell. gd news.. it wouldn't have worked with my order unless i upgraded to $3000+ . phew... i feel better now.

Yo pwanda what are you saying re the $300.....I spec'd mine (33%off + upgrade to Video card) over $3000.....does that mean that I can get the $300 extra off ?

Hey I didn't see anything about $300 off on the site either, my order came to about $2950, I would have upgraded the wifi card to get my $300 off if I had known.

Well I actually placed the 9300 on order on Friday, then rang on Monday to change it because I had doubled up, getting complete care included in the warranty and also specifying it again further down the page. Sounds stupid, but I didn't realise the complete care was included in the warranty I chose. Anyway, after speaking to no less than 6 different reps, none of us could understand each other so I asked for the order to be cancelled and I resubmitted a new one later on Monday.

Now what is worrying me is that I have not yet received confirmation from Dell that this order went through so I don't even know if I have a 9300 on order!!! I am not in a huge hurry to get it, but I will be severely pissed if I have to pay an extra $1500. So if this is the case and the XPS2 is released here, then I may get it simply because there will not be a huge price difference again. Anyway I will let you know.

Cheers

Arnt those reps something......my conversations with them actually descend to spelling words like....... dog...as in Delta....Oscar.......Golf.......and thats just the introduction.....tech support is where conversations really get interesting.....I guess thats why we get 33% discounts and 6800 upgrades for a little over 3000

Yes thats correct. hmm i cant rem the exactly price you needed to have upgraded to, but its $3XXX. Hence, with my $2612 order there was no extra $300 available.

I know exactly what u mean.

It seems with Dell Australia we're first put thru to some indian call centre and then dispatched to Singapore. Unfortunately, the accent is thick and rough...and just when i thought i'd mastered the indian accent, up comes the singaporean one!!

If u wanna try a dell salesperson with accent-free (almost) english, try the 2076 extension :P

Looks like I ordered my 9300 3 weeks too early. I paid $3500 all up with the 6800 so I did get around $400 off at the time.

But I would have happily got the 760 version for 33% off. Oh well.

33% off offer...

The 33% off offer ended Monday... The $300 off applies to machines that are upgraded to a particular dollar amount. A coupon code can be found for your machine on the Dell Home/Office front page, click on 'More Details' and it will come up. This offer ends this Friday. There are currently 'free Double RAM'
and free leather bag offers in the small business sections.

Can I just make a quick comment about Dell and their discounting strategies. I had a 9300 on order last Friday. The next day I came into uni (I don't have Web access at home) and mucked around and went on the Dell website for a laugh. That's when I saw the 33% off and started this thread so that as many people as possible could take advantage of it (and cancelled my 9300 order!!!). Monday, as all you Aussies know is Labour Day (Maybe just for VIC?) but clearly anyone who left work on Friday and came back to work on Tuesday would have never even KNOWN about this deal, let alone purchased a computer with it...I think it makes good business sense to put up these offers where everyone can see them rather than sneakily bringing them onto the site over a weekend where very few people would be looking at the Dell website. Incidentally my rep was working on Labour Day...

Am I missing something obvious here? I don't do Marketing.

Petar.

Your rep is probably not based in Australia. Maybe Malaysia or Singapore?
