Hey, My acer supports DDR2 533 Mhz But its only got 512mb DDR 1 333 in it at the moment.

I was thinking of putting it up to a gig of something...but i dont know what.

If i whack in 1 Gb of DDR2 will it be faster as its 533 mhz, or will 1 Gb of DDR1 be faster as its got CL of 2.5 as opposed to the CL 4 of the DDR 2..

Help lol

You have to double check that, DDR2 and DDR1 can not be put into the same slot as their pin location are different.

yeah, DDR will not physically fit in a DDR2 slot and vice-versa.

hmmm, maybe i made a wrong assumption then,

Im on an aspire 1693 and it sports the 533 FSB, so I assumed it would take 533 memory also.

So i stand corrected lol.

Thanks for the info this makes it an easier choice for me lol 1 Gb of 333 Mhz DDR 1 lol
