Docking Station

Is it possible to get a Docking station for a Dell Inpiron 6000?

Dell doesn't offer a docking station, they offer a USB port replicator. I bought one from them and it's not that great. As far as I know there is no way to connect a true docking station to the I6000 as it has no connector for it.

It's ridiculous if you ask me.. I feel that it's impossible to have a true "desktop replacement" if you don't have a docking station or hardware port replicator support.. The inspiron 8000, 8100, 8200, and 8600 all had dock's (or port rep's)... With this latest batch, you're left with the Latitude 810, or the Precision m70 if you want a dock, but they of course don't come with the strongest video card, and are more expensive...

I just cancelled my order on the m70, frustrated over this debacle. I'm hoping some other company can meet my requirements... USB replicators suck, having to plug in the power, video x2, and the usb dongle every time would get really really old (and the ports would wear out after a year or so of use)..

Course, I'm sitting here typing this on two 21 inch LCD's connected to my port replicator, driven my an aging 8600, so I'm a little biased on this subject. I have emailed dell management so many times on this issue that I've given up..

It's too bad the m70 didn't just have a true 6800 like the 9300, then I'd settle and get that.. (since it'd be impossible to get the Ultra in there)

WTF? Are you kidding me? The m70's GFX card is not pwerful? What are you using the laptop for? if it's for gaming and you have 2 x 21 in LCD, get a flippin desktop and quit cryin' If you are going to use it for CAD/DCC or something, get a Quadro and quit worrying about what is more "powerful" The Quadro is made for CAD/DCC. The 6800 Ultra is the same card, but the clocked just a bit higher, yet is not as stable as the Quadro's. And is made for gaming....jeez!
