Wireless mouses (mice) - Page 2

V500 is really sexy. i'm getting a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse 2.0 Leather Edition to use with my laptop... bought it cause i heard its a real battery saver, 6 months b4 you need to change.. and i think if i stick in some Energizer Lithium, might last me a year

I personally prefer my MX1000 over my MX510 for FPS games. However, that may change when the Logitech MX518 is available.

Hi all.
When you are using the bluetooth mice, are you using the bluetooth adaptor that came with them or the internal Dell bluetooth module. I can't see the point of a wireless mouse if I have to plug an adaptor into my notebook every time. Regards Alan

Yep you are right ...annoys me because the 700m doesn't have bluetooth "built-in"

Almost snapped the damn dongle off once!

Is it possible to use a bluetooth mouse via the internal module?
Yes, if you have an internal bluetooth card, you do not need to plug in the usb bluetooth dongle, which comes with a bluetooth mouse.

I liked this feature. However, for now, I have stopped using my Bluetake BT500 bluetooth mouse, because the battery life is quite short. I was using rechargeable batteries, but charging batteries everyday became a chore.

I an curious as to the battery life, which everyone else is getting on their BT mice.

just ordered a Bluetake BT-510 will be here a couple days...like it b/c it is wider than the iogear 800DPI i just got.

i had thought about the BT500, but it didn't have rechargeable batteries and usb cable charger. only one store i know that has the BT-510 in right now and that is

www.spacecentersystems.com
9 left since i bought one...hehehe
the other retailers are pre-ordering for it and should be available in about 2 weeks.

both iogear and bt510 have usb charger cable, rechargable batteries, on/off switch, 800DPI.

the iogear is nice, but about a inch narrower than i would like. i am still on the first charge, so i don't know how long it will last, but i will say that if you don't use it for a while, it takes about a second for it to repower up if you want to call it that (i.e. the cursor and the mouse resynch fully after a second). I used the iogear for 7 hours last night and have been using it for the past 3 hours...i think it has good life. i will know about the bt-510 to see if it has better performance than the bt-500 when i get it

the toshiba SDIO didn't work (see my long rant and review under "bluetooth error"). I have a 3com (also listed under "bluetooth error") bluetooth pc card that is going to arrive in the next few days. i hate the dongle thing as well so i'm going to find something that will work on the 700m that doesn't entail something sticking out. i chose the 3com, b/c it is flush to the side when the card is in the pc slot. others stick out which i don't like, b/c i don't want to have to take it out and reinsert. I thought about the Zoom 4312, but it too sticks out just a tiny bit for some apparent reason.

interesting...lots of wires and adapter just to connect the mouse to power though...also, i'd like to know how easy it is to accidentally power on since it takes one click to power back on. it does come with EVERYTHING though, which is nice.

Just like XBox controllers, I am weary of getting odd third party devices. I am thinking about the Logitech V500 though. That looks very sweet.

BTW, how do you like the V500????

Has anyone used the Logitech wireless media mice? I saw one at Best Buy and kinda like it. I doubt I'd actually use the media buttons, but it's a nice size and uses one of those "wireless usb keys" to connect.

Anyone here have the IOGear BT mouse and a wired MS Notebook Optical Mouse? Just wanna get some size comparison. If anyone has both, can they post pics of a side-by-side?

MS mouse dimensions seem to be close to the IO Gear, but I just wanna make sure before I order (MS mouse is about as small as I'd want to go).

Thanks
