Software Question: CAD and 3-D rendering software

For those who have any CAD or 3-D rendering software, where would be the best place or best program to use to download it? Particularly programs like Rhinoceros, Lightscape and Vectorworks? I can easily get AutoCAD 2004, Illustrator 10 (cant get CS!) AND Photoshop 7 (again cant get CS). Anyone know of a good place to download this stuff, or is Kazaa my best bet? Waiting for my inspiron 9300 and am planning to use it for heavy drafting and rendering so yeah...thanks to all who help.

I got my copy of AutoCAD 2004 and Milkshape3D (well that was free) from an online course I took in computer aided design. Can't help ya specifically, but generally yes many things can be found on KaZaa, but if you don't want spyware use Ares.

How about you buy the software and quit stealing it.

I believe they have Student Pricing...

Yes, some colleges offer special prices to students if you're taking courses that involve the software. I remember when I went to college, you could get Windows 98 and Office for about $100.

Depending on the software you want to use it for, but if you do digital animation like me you can try out trial copies of some of the most advanced software out there.

For Alias's Maya

You may be able to do the same thing for Lightwave and 3d Studio Max. But in any case those are the two biggest players for doing 3d for movies, games, and broadcast/tv commerical design.

enjoy,
