I was just making sure that the audio for the 5680 can only play 5.1 channel for DVD content only?

If yes would someone recommend a good external sound card that I can plug into the usb or firewire so that I can get 5.1 channel sound for everything else (like games and music)?

PS I know this was suppose to go in the Audi&Video forum but there is more people here responding and I would get a greater reply ... If it's wrong can someone plz just move it back to the Audio/Video section

External Sound Card

Right now I am using a Sound Blaster Extigy. It connects to your USB port and sits next to your notebook. The sound quality is the best I have ever had from a sound card, even its simulated surround sound is well done. The array of input and output ports is staggaring letting you usually connect anything to anything without an adapter. I like it because I can connect my DVD player though it and it will be a DVD decoder even if the computer is not turned on. The only drawback that I notice is the fact that because it is USB is uses up some of your CPU constantly but it isnt enough to really get worked up about. Hope this helps.

I was thinking about the Extigy too but it costs so much and i'll probably don't need all the functions it has but if it's the best one out there I might just have to make a little more money to get it.
