Asus M6N ethernet problem

I've been having some problems with my laptop for over 1 year, it has a broadcom netxtreme card like many others...

The problem is... it never worked... some times it crashes when i connect a cable, but most of the time the simple fact of being activated causes it, i already sent it to asus, and they changed every part of it but it still dosent work... i sent an email saying the card is ok because it works in linux perfectly but they dont know what to do...

When i call them i realised i understand more of computers then they do, i'm completely desperate :/

I already tried various drivers including the 7.86 but nothing... I cant see any aparent conflict with another hardware, but when they returned it to me the first time the fact was it worked, the thing is they used a pre instalation cd that they dont want to give me, but its no good anyway because i have to format the HD one day... I cant be dependent of them to put a operating system...

If someone has an answer to my problem i would be soooooo happy! Just found this forum and decided to take my chance. Keep up the good work

LOL! I know EXACTLY what you mean... It happens all too often unfortunately.

I know its not what you want to hear but one of my coworkers had a similar problem. It had to do with a faulty connection on the motherboard. The only way to fix it is to replace the motherboard.

hope this helps.

Why do i think that it will be hard to convinve them to replace the board? :x

EDIT:
A litle change here, after all the network dosent work in linux, the stupid laptop got acess to a wireless network... So it dosent work anywere, i think i'm going to send it back to asus...
