I saw some articles, some people said Dell 9300 Ultrasharp Truelife WUXGA 17 is very good. At this moment, I am very confused to buy the laptop. Dell 9300 hardware is very strong, however, sony design and screen are very good. Could you help me ,give me some advice? Thank you!

I haven't seen the Dell and not many people have. Some reports are that the Dell screen is just as good as the Sony, but maybe not quite as bright. I have a Sony WUXGA XBright, and will be taking pictures of them side by side at max brightness with identical images presented next weekend. Maybe that will help. My Sony will be for sale after I get my 9300 and break it, I mean break it in.
Don't know what you mean by Sony design being good, so you'll have to describe what you mean to get more of an answer.
If you want more advice, you'll have to give more details on what you want and are considering. Many more people will have the 9300 during the coming week.

I heard some people said that Dell laptop always has some problems, the quality is not so good such as big noise, drop color etcs. Is it right? How about the Dell 9300 or xps?
Are there any pictures which comparing Dell 9300 and Sony WUXGA XBright screen?
Thank you very much!

I agree with superboy, I really like the Sony design. Very nice. But the tech hardware just isn't in the same league as the 9300. And don't forget the price. For similar price comparision (with the Sony still more expensive) you'll have to compare the first gen Centrino Sony A270 with the 9300, which means it doesn't have 533, dual channel (don't think the A6xx has dual channel eventhough it's an Alviso), DVI, more USB ports.
Ultimately, I think I'll have to close one eye and just get the 9300, it's just better and cheaper. Except we don't know how good the Dell screen is. I know that the 9300 is a 90 watt machine while the Sony A is 168 watt, meaning it is a 2 bulb LCD panel vs 1 (educated guess).
Sonicwind, how does your sages 89xx compare with the Sony A170 in terms of the screen. And please do tell us how the 9300 compares with the Sony, and if you can do so asap, just a one liner answer would be great (cause the discounts are ending very soon). Thanks again.
