im thinking this... well i dont know if its true or if I just think it is so i feel good. lol

i think dell will cut back on sale for a few days, then ship us the xps2... They do this because they have to be smart ( or not). because if they dont ship and keep having better deals, people will just cancel and reorder like most people did. I imagine that soon around 2 weeks or so we will know if we will get it early, or if we will be waiting until that first week of april

Like the last 2 of my dell notebooks: I ordered them and they all shipped around 1 week early. I seriously think we will get them slightly earlier... I imagine they want to have a ton built so they can all be shipped... Plus dell receives more customer satisfaction when they ship earlier than expected... its a sales gimmick......

i hope

Notice something? Dell Canada says, at least one XPS 2 will ship on March, 25th. We've got a rumour from Europe that the XPS 2 will be available for delivery on April, 6th and available for order on March 22th.
Considering that the 9300 was made available later in the US, it most probably is the other way around with the XPS 2. So as soon as they start shipping the first backorder of XPS 2s in the US they will start accepting orders in Europe - probably to take off the peak.
Seeing that and the Canada delivery estimate, I'd say beginning of April is a pretty safe bet. If we're lucky it'll be the March, 25th Canadian ship date, if we're unlucky (and Canada is a bit mis-informed) it'll be April 4-6th or something. But I don't think it'll be April 11th...

Ordered mine 03/06....checked my Account info and Order Status today and it shows 'Pre=Production' for my baby...
Ship date 03/25..... (Canadian Order)

Ahhhhh, great to be living up here... will post my XPS2 review on 03/26

There isn't anything available from the Dell Canada Website as to anticipated ship dates, other then my Order Status... my rep including many others, use the US site to quote the anticipated ship date. He was as surprised as I was, when I emailed him my Order Status page.

The longer they wait the more time they give me to shop and wait for the competition. Come on Dell, you don't want me to cancell and buy a nice shiney new Turion64 notebook do you? Or how about that rumored Clevo D900k?

I hope these systems hit the real production status tomorrow, 3/15, as rumored by Dell internal documents. RTS could mean "release to shop" so they can be built but who knows at this point.

Hmm Turion 64 + 6800 U or beefed up X800 mobility with low-k process would be nice. I'd even consider a Sager if that was offered...

I initially placed an order for the xps on march 2, however the dell rep failed to include the ram upgrade and proper HD. Took me 6 days for them to correct this. They ended up canceling that order (which initial ship date on that was april 17th). They recreated the order march 8th, that ship date now is april 7th.

Included in this, I ordered the WINTV-PVR-USB2 EXT MCE TV TUNER W/MPEG2 through dell and have a ship date of april 11th for this. A coworker placed an order just for the tuner card through the assessories section and got it 2 days later. Dell reps tried to play the 'its on backorder' routine, till I notified them of a customer # and order and then got the run around. Luckily between me getting screwed around for 6 days and many supervisors and sales people, they cut me a deal or I would have cut bait a while ago.

Just cause I like to type Here is a detail account all in one place of my experience with Dell and shipping dates:

Feb 24th: Order XPS2 shipping date April 8th.
Feb 26th: Change OS from XP Home to XP MCE (cancel/reenter) shipping date April 14th
Feb 28: Wake up, Shipping date April 12
Mar 8: Cancel XPS2 order i9300 (with 35% coupon) shipping date March 21 (for i9300)
Mar 9: Discover I have EPP, Cancel i9300 Order XPS2 Shipping date April 8th.
Mar 11: Add TV Tuner rep has to do cancel/reorder Shipping Date April 14th.
Mar 14: Wake up, Shipping date April 11th.

So the April 8th and 14th dates seem to be recurring themes in my experience.

I ordered this past Sunday and my date hasn't changed from the 11th. I have a little checkmark next to "Order Processing," but my Pre-production is highlighted and has a greyed out date of Sunday, March 13. In Production is also greyed out with a date of March 13. Kinda strange. Is this how everyone's is?
