GREETINGS LADIES AND FSCKS! Its me Shinra or as people would remember the 1 out of 2 people in the entire world that ordered a Area 51 5300. I've gotten the chance to meet some of you live over CS:S and you guys are great. So without further interruptions, LETS START. (Total Alienware Experience: Jan 3, 2005 - Feb 3, 2005)

Chapter One.
The broken down Shinra.

It was around early january, just coming out of new years/christmas break, that my dell (4600c..Intergrated Shit sucks.) decided to die. I, for sure, didnt know the cause (I was a computer noob...) so I just then and there pronounced that my computer was dead. finished. GONE. As you can see with a new term of school approaching, that was the most dreadfull time one can lose his personal love and joy. So after a heated battle of swords with my mom, we decided that I could purchase one computer that could LAST and PERFORM beyond my expectations....So the hunt began.

Chapter Two.
Dilema of greater good.
Around this time, a couple of days after the incident, I decided to do some research on a new computer. Some of my choices were Dell, Sony,Alienware, and Voodoo (Imediately eliminated because of price). After researching on the companies at a friends house and via catalog, I ended up with 2 suitable choices. Alienware And DELL (For the XPS). DELL, being the one my mom leaned towards more because of the price friendly choices, seemed like a good choice, but for me...it was a little risky. After finalizing some information, XPS was the way to go....Until I started searching for an Alienware model to fit my needs.

Chapter Three.
The man from Florida...

After researching deeply for an alienware model that would wow me, I stumbled upon the cute little Area 51 5300. My exact first impressions were "Oh my god it looks like a toaster!", and boy did my friends think so too.
But I could care less about the exterior since well, thats what I cared for the most when i was buying the 4600c. All I wanted to know was how it performed under the hood. So after contemplating what specs I were to get, it came down to this (Mind you, If I have had the knowledge I gained from this forum I would've chose something ENTIRELY different.):

Warranty: 3-Year AlienCare Toll-Free 24/7 Phone Support with Onsite Service
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2
AlienRespawn: Alienware® Respawn Recovery Kit
Chassis: Alienware® Area-51 5300 Small Form Factor Chassis - Black
Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 550 w/ HT Technology 3.4GHz 1MB Cache
Motherboard: Alienware® Area-51 5300 Motherboard with Intel® 915G Chipset
Memory: 1GB Dual Channel DDR PC-3200 at 400MHz - 2 x 512MB
Graphics Processor: ATI RADEON™ X600 XT PCI Express 128MB DDR w/Digital and TV Out
System Drive: High Performance - Serial ATA - 160GB Seagate® Barracuda 7,200 RPM w/8MB Cache
Optical Drive: Lite-On® 16x DVD / 52x32x52x CD-RW Drive
Removable Storage : 3.5" 1.44 MB Floppy Disk Drive - Black
Sound Card: Intel® 6-Channel Audio with SPDIF and Composite Out
Network Connection: Integrated High Performance Gigabit Ethernet
And etc...

After that I then called Alienware for what would be, and seemed to be, the longest time I had to ever wait for something on the phone (It was about 25 minutes..but when your holding, ages.).

I then spoke to a man, shame I forgot his name but I knew one thing..He lived in florida. After talking and getting my order through, I gave the phone to my mom to verify the payment method's and such, but out of no where, she started asking questions that made me feel embarrassed. Like "How many years of experience does this company have" and "What is GHz? What is A Video Card? Why is it so expensive?". But that was ok. The guy on the phone was completely cool with the questions and answered everything fully. Thats how you know people are commited, when they stay sane after a bombardment of funny questions. After that was said and done, He told me it would be finished around 3-4 weeks. When i heard those words...I nearly went insane.

Chapter Four.
"The PHASE game."

3-4 Weeks was an incredibly long time IMO. At the time I had nothing to do but play Xbox and PS2...What a boring time indeed. So I then decided that I HAD TO GET ONLINE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. So I did...From my moms computer. A rikity old piece of garbage with 64Mb of ram and 600mhz..It ran like my 1997 gameboy pocket. But hey, It was either that or oprah at 4...So you know what all of you readers would have chose...thats right. So I hooked up my DSL after atleast 2 hours of trying, only to find that this computer cant take my speed. My 3.0Mbps D/L rate got reformed into a 2.4. Weird I say..or maybe it was just Verizon at the time...Eh who cares. First thing I did is what the average person does everytime they get to the computer after ladida. Check there email. So I checked...Atleast 6 new messages at the time..none spam. But there were 3 that caught my eye. All from Alienware. I somehow had a feeling that it was some sort of tracking of my order and the newsletter thing I signed up for.. and I was right. Except for the fact that they included a 90 day free trial of Gamespot Complete, which was a great thank you gift IMO. So I check my "order status". Phase 1...Eh...ok. a couple days later it hits phase 3..yay....Let's fast foward a bit to Feb. 3. OHHHHH BOY WAS I THE HAPPY CAMPER!. Once i Read those sweet words:

OHHHH YEA. 5 days later it came......it conquered....and it exceeded ALL OF MY EXPECTATIONS....I then gave it the name that will forever be engraved
on my friend's minds....The Jesus in a box.

Chapter Five
How it handles.

FSCKING GREAT!

Final Chapter
Pictures speak more then words.

Thanks for reading!

I gotta 1553 in 3dmark05...crappy vid card. Other then that this mother ****a's tip top. It can run all the things I usually use with no lag. Its perfect.

How has it been to use? Excellent so far...except sometimes (like once every week) the screen just turns blue with no words..so I cant tell if its a memory dump or something else.

If you're getting BSOD once a one week.... that's a sure sign that something is terribly wrong.
BSOD only happens when Windows gets so screwed up it explodes. Usually a driver issue or a bad piece of hardware... in any event... you should follow up on it pdq
