Qosmio Query

Thread Starter
I am driving a brand new Qosmio G10. Two things are irritating me. First of all, when I am composing e-mail(Gmail) or a Word document, if I pause for a few seconds or a minute and then start typing again the cursor jumps to some other place higher in the document. I don't think it is a g-maill or word problem as a friend also has the same thing happen with her Qosmio. She solved it my switching to a mouse and turning off the touchpad. I have looked into settings for the touchpad but I can't find anything.

The second irritant is that for awhile after start-up this annoying semi-opaqe box opens up with a great big blue blob of a cursor to select and open a programme or file. I can't find where to turn this off.

Any ideas folks? Much appreciated.

BTW ... beautiful machine, screen is awesome!

Toshiba!!!

hey, i have a qosmio the screen is awesome!!!!!!!

im finding the same problem as you...when im typing sometimes the cursor goes away like crazy, deleting words......the best way is turning off the touchpad and connect an external mouse.

the blue box appears only when you touch the touchpad on the corners for a while.. to turn it off. go to start/ toshiba/utilities/ disable touch and launch.

Im having problems with windows media centre 2005, every time i play a video the corner split showing a black line....

I had same problem with my CICERO.
Your coursor moves away because u touch it accidently when typing.
So if u will be more carefull and u will not touch Pad while typing u wont have any problems.
When u disable Touch pad and use mouse, this problem dissapears.

I am not sure about this since I haven't played with a QOSMIO but under the touchpad/mouse settings can you turn down the sensitivity of the touchpad? Might also be a setting to automatically disable the touchpad when typing for up to a couple seconds and that way the mouse won't move when you brush the touchpad with your palm.
I have seen the exact same thing on different model notebook and it was just a very sensitive touchpad.
