Best Case for XPS2? - Page 3

Their are two sizes of the AW backpacks. The ebags one might not be the "XL" size. I gaurentee the AW XL bag will hold the xps2, it held my 7700 perfectly, so perfect I am keepig it for my xps2.

Will this Viper XL hold the XPS2? Any other suggestions for a really good sleeve?

Thanks.
As I stated on my previous post about Booq, the Vyper looks like it's only made to fit the Apple 17" PowerBook which is much smaller than the 9300/XPS. But, their other sleeves (see link above) will fit with a bit of room to spare.

I also am a fan of these sleeves:

...have quite a few and they are very well made and look sharp.

Yes indeed. Those Waterfield sleevecases are excellent. I just wish some of their other bags could store more stuff when your laptop is in the bag.

I decided to order the Booq Folee Messenger 17 for my XPS2. I really like the look of it and like all the extra pockets for cables, iPod, etc. I should get it by the end of next week. I'll report back once I've received it and post a review/pics. It's really hard to find decent pictures and reviews of laptop bags. It's frustrating, but I have to admit, it's almost as much fun shopping for the bag as it is the laptop!

OK just visited the Dell Direct store and tried stuffing a 9200 into my Targus backpack (yes the Dell rep was watching me *really* closely!), fits like a glove! (Well almost ... it does touch the top of the laptop compartment which isn't padded, a couple of blocks of foam will solve that though!). So if the 9300 is the same size-wise, then this is a nice, relatively small laptop backpack which doesn't shout "steal me" (it'd be even better if it didn't have the Targus logo on the back but otherwise it looks like the run-of-the-mill college student backpack).

Hey guys first post hear thought I'd ask for som opinions... I really dont want to get a "laptop backpack" for my new XPS. I think I would probably be ok just sliding it int a nice thick sleeve and placing it in my Jansport backpack I use now. Obviously I'd have to be a bit more careful than if it was in a real laptop backpack, but I don't really plan on slinging it around wildly regardless of what its in...

That said does this sound like a reasonable idea or am I asking for trouble?

Here's the sleeve I was looking at...

Not sure if it would even fit, but seems about the right size from dimensions I looked up, and its made of a pseudo-stretchy material...

Anyway, just looking for feedback.

Thanks,

I got the iXPS Gen 2 backpack.

Those that were concerned with it being a thief magnet: I am going to take the thread out and remove the symbol.

It will be a great backpack for the iXPS Gen 2 since its specifically made for it.

See ya!
