DUDE ITS A DELL!!! And i guess i can play 97% of all the hot games out there. Also not to mention daily work activity. I work on wall street and i will be taking this on presentations showing off network diagrams for companies that are upgrading the network infrastructure. Why you say? Because of the WOW FACTOR. Usually you turn off the lights and turn on the projector which is hooked up to the lappy, but this time the lappy in a dark room full of techies will look like something out of star wars.hahahahahah GUYS this is 2005 and anything goes in business get used to it. AND SAGER SUCKS. Think of dell as the ford of computers.

dang... those games bring back some goooood memories.... like of the first myst.... how it now matured into somthing beautiful!

Guys and gals, i just had an awesome idea. Instead of talking about when dell is gonna ship. Lets talk about all the hot, juicy games out there. I have to get updated. Is matrix online anygood. What about a good role player or maybe a simulation. Also what about a space exploration game on the xps2. YEEEEEHAAAAAAAA XPS2 is gonna rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Cool.....let's do it in the Gaming Section. Just kidding. Your right, this waiting game is driving us all nuts! I'm even hoping Clevo releases a lappy with the Ultra card, so that Dell might get off its rump and start producing these machines that we are willing to pay for.

I know this is crazy but think..... I have read on here some problems with the 9300 like screen and hd's... so maybe its ok if they keep them till they say, and send us the best, flaw free hardware......

and games... I sold doom 3 and hl2 with my last laptop... Im going to have to get them again.... i saw doom 3 for 29.00 and hl2 for 39.00 so when I can round up enough change, im going to get them....

I recieve pc gamer and computer games mag's and they really talk up that Matrix online

what im really waiting for are these

1. Piriah
2. Doom 3 res evil
3. FEAR
4. Matrix

Cause I know I can play these nasty games at some cranky high quality!!!


My bet..... XPS2 will be your easter gift.....

Just think of it you can take your XPS GEN2 anywhere and "do you want to play a game" (Movie WARGAMES) just have some extra batteries no biggy. I think i am gonna hook mine up to talk like HAL or something

The game I'm really waiting for is Guild Wars. Not that it needs a beefy system like the XPS2 to run, but it's still got a ton of eye candy and fun-factor. It's like a cross between Diablo 2 and Unreal Tournament.

I also have Doom 3 still waiting for me to beat it, as well as HL2. Got too caught up in CS:S to pay attention to the single player game.

games, well the unholy trinity ofcourse: doom3, hl2, FC.

then, chronicles of riddick, MOHacific assault. star wars:repulic commando.

actually i have played them all on my 8600 but now i wanna play them all on the highest resolutions.

maybe use the dvi connection to hook it up to my big screen.

that reminds me, i have a question.

my plasma monitor is an EDTV. meaning native resolution of 840x460, something like that.
it has vga and dvi connections and the specs claim it is capable of vga,sxga and uxga when connected to a comp. how is that possible. also, what would be better to connect the comp through, svideo or dvi.

Games: MOH Pacific Assault.. or the newly released Brothers in arms! (which is 1 reason why I am getting the xps). I do ww2 airborne reenacting as well as on a ww2 parachute team.. did things for the game and helped however was unable to do crap on my old laptop to assist due to hardware limitations... let alone be able to play the end product. Should be better than call of duty..

Are you guys really purchasing games now? I was planning on getting WoW and WC3 with the guides to pass the time. I thought I would prepare before venturing off into a MMORPG for the first time. But aren't prices going to drop for these games by the time the XPS2 comes out?

The only thing I've bought so far is a new MX510 mouse for my XPS2. I have a decent gaming desktop so I had a few games kicking around already that I haven't played much. I'm just looking forward to playing them again at high detail and resolution.

I'm sure the jump from my 9500pro to the 6800 Go Ultra will be quite noticeable.

OH hell yeah brother in arms is going to look and playawesome on the xps 2 can't wait for minez to come in already wish it would go into production soon, they still didn't charge my credit card yet

I have heard on another thread that people have called in and reps said they're in production.... of course dell reps usually dont know what the hell is going on

Progenta, I feel your pain, we are in this all together. I need this laptop ciz its the only one i have. Right now i am chained to my desk at work and at home. I have been enslaved by dell due to this delay in production. I hope dell finishes smoking his cigar and getsback to work. HAHHAHAHAH XPS GEN2 will be the envy of all lappies ROCK ON!!!!

I hope so; the LG screens have not been getting great reviews though. The XPSG2 really seams to be the best out there right now. They better start shipping soon or the temptations of competitors will creep in....

Progneta you are right..

In another thread people have claimed the sales reps are saying their xps's are in production. However as the other thread mentions the automated phone message and online status still say pre-production.

My estimated shipping date is April 7th.. what is everyone elses? I 've heard many are saying the 11th...

Finally I am thinking production might start monday, just a guess???
