8790 has two fans on the right and one center rear. They are all used to cool the system. The GPU, as far as I can tell does not have a unique fan. It relies on the cooper plate located beneath the keyboard and the little CPU fan, as well as the other two, for cooling.
Yes, the gpu is located underneath the keyboard on the far left side. Mine still has that light blue thermal pad on it between it and the plate. Should I remove that and add artic silver to it to help dissipate/transfer more heat to the plate?
I use mobmeter, and cant figure out what sensor the software is using to measure the heat? is there only a cpu sensor in the Sager8790?
no pics, but the light blue thermal pad squares are located under the keyboard, under that next plate that has alot of screws. Those "pockets" you see in that plate under the keyboard are the areas where it touches heat sensitive parts to help cool them down.
