i ordered on the 2nd but didnt have time to wire the moeny till the 15th then it had to wait a day if only id payed on the 2nd mine would already be on its way to pctorque and then to me

Availability

I am most likely going to place an order for the 5680 in the next week or so. Does anybody know if any of the components in the 5680 are on backorder, is there anykind of waitng list, or are the systems shipping on schedule?

Here is the the configuration I plan on ordering.

I ordered mine on the 2nd of sept and wired the money on fourth. It doesnt have the dvdrw. I cant wait to get mine.

I got my 5680 today at around 12 PM. It's incredible. I'm loading it up now.

I don't see any dead pixels and it's cruising like a charm.

Many thanks to Laura for keeping me informed, upgrading me to over-night shipping at my request and then upgrading me to Sat Delivery on PCT's dime.

PCT has been incredible throughout the buying experience!

edit: For those wondering, I ordered mine on the 3rd.

I ordered on the 6th, I think, with a CC... Got an email from Adam last night, the 20th, around 6pm (9am EST) with the tracking information. I guess I'm special! Should arrive the middle of the week sometime, but of course I won't get it until after all the software is loaded and it is shipped to me here in an unknown location... Okok, here's a hint... I am with a unit that is in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), if I tell you anything else, I will have to frag you!

I ordered the 5680 on 9/19 and I go on vacation on 10/04. I'm hoping I'll get it by then, I set up next day shipping. Any thoughts on my chances of getting it in 14 days?

something tells me

there is no rhyme or reason to the way they are mailing these out then. I ordered mine without an os, (as I am a fairly tech savy sort of girl) and no bells or whistles...yet here I sit no pc to take to classes. I wonder if pouting works to get the lappys sent out faster lol

Hi Jelly, when did you place your order? I always seem to have bad luck with things like this, you know, missing the UPS guy because I was in the shower, things like that. At least I seem to have much better luck with the bigger things in life, and thats alright with me.
BTW, Crayons may take you more places, but a starship will get you alot more action.

wow, you guys still didnt get ur laptops. that sucks! I just came to look because this thread is getting far too long. "letter die!" anyway, good luck in ur future endeavors on the powerful machine u r about to receive. i notice myself coming here less often because i am too busy with my laptops power. wonder how u will be after u receive it.

thank god someone finally said it. i mean geezus this must be the longest thread in the forum. 8890 user threads wernt anywhere near this length =D guess they dont love their lappys as much as 5680 users. if length of threads determine which lappy is better (5680vs8890) i think we know who the winner is....ah heck who am i kidding we dont need to compare thread lengths.. we all know the 5680 is better. =D

I placed my order on the 2nd of sept

and got the wire taken care of on the 4th and I still dont even have tracking numbers.

and as for space ships giving more action? I suppose it depends on what kind of action you like lol

well if you order it now....

it really will be like christmas when you get it, (like christmas eve lol). I have been in the computer industry long enough to know that the more you want and need your computer the less like you are to get it in a hurry lol
