PCG-K45 RAM question...

I just got my Vaio PCG-K45 today, and so far I looove this machine.

My question is this, why is a system with a 533mhz FSB and 2 available RAM slots limited to a total of 1GB of PC2100? Is there any reason why I couldn't put in 2 sticks of 1GB PC2700/PC3200 for a total of 2GB?

Thanks!

Battery life question K45

Jason sorry I cant answer your question. Im looking to consider
the Sony K47 which have 1GB and dvd-RW dual layer.

Can you tell me what battery life is like on your K45.
I know on the Vaio power management screen
you can adjust power to MAX Battery, and screen brightness to any of
level 1-8. When you know battery life please report. Also indicate
power setting and brightness level and whether wireless is on during your test.

A friend of mind has the K35. With power setting max battery,
level 7 brightness, wireless off he gets about 1hr 12 minutes
doing web surfing, light productive work.

I beleive the K45 has video card with true 64 meg video memory... not shared
memory ram like the K35..

With the display set to 5 on the 1 - 9 scale where 9 is darkest, and the CPU set to "battery life" mode - I got a whopping 1 hour and 21 minutes on a full charge! Oh well, I'm not a true mobile user, I just need transportability.

Also, the graphics on this model are handled by ATI 345m IGP. So, this could certainly be improved on.

On the other hand, the display is amazing!
