Sonystyle = Not sharpest tool in shed! Advice??

Yeah, here is the quick run down.

I order a custom built Sony Vaio S-380 from sonystyle.com on the 7th. Realize the battery life is hurt by the new chipset. So, I cancel the order on the morning of the 8th. Infact, I call three times to confirm the cancel.

On the 9th I call three more times and on the 10th one last time.

I then go to Best Buy and buy a S360.

I am happy.

Then, I call them this last Sat AGAIN to confim this laptop will not be shipped. I again was reassured it will not be mailed.

Guess what I JUST got in my inbox. Shipping confirmation and tracking information. Of course their customer service is closed right now.

I need some help on how to solve this problem.

This is my initial thought. When the charge hits my Amex card I dispute it.
When the laptop arrives I refuse it and return to sender. It is going to get here on Friday!

Slight problem with the refusal. I am having the laptop delievered to a hotel. If they sign for it I might be screwed.

Help...anybody?

So do I, niteflyguy, but after reading your post, any purchase I might make will probably not be done online!

AmEx is excellent when working with these kinds of situations; this should work out OK. If you haven't already, you should call and advise them that you cancelled your order with Sony.

Well, I called customer support and this nice lady got things straightened out!

She saw all the calls I made to stop the order and some how the warehouse interpeted it as keep the order going. As a result it shipped.

She is going to issue me to refunds...one for the shipping and one for the lappy.

Downside it won't happen to the end of the month. But the way my credit card statement closes it should not be a problem.

She even called Fedex and had the computer turned around before it even got to the hotel!

Yey, I found the sharper of the tools
