So, we're currently at the 9300 mark. What will future Inspiron models be named? Presumably 9400, 9500, etc.... but will dell keep this trend and move into the 5 digit realm??

Meh, I doubt it. Bringing model numbers into the 10,000s seems a little stupid. They could do something like what Radeon did before hitting 10,000, just change how the models are labeled to include a letter or something... Maybe even change the line from Inspiron to something else?

I doubt they'll go into the 10,000s though, won't sound as nice.
