Interesting, I didn't get a tracking number for my headset. Does it come included in the Aurora's box?

I still don't understand how you guys are getting your system so much faster than I am...is it because they show better building times with Nvidia cards, as opposed to ATI cards....like as if they advertising for them or something

Mine shipped today too! I feel like FlightDoc and Delta Wolf have been my pledge brothers in the AW fraternity--hopefully FlightDoc's has shipped.

Alien_Head13: I don't get that either. Have you specifically asked if there's any holdup on a part?
Not that I know of. Moved into phase 12 today (3/24). Would suspect that with the holiday weekend I might not be looking at a ship date before Monday. We shall see. Would love to be pleasantly surprised and get a FedEx number tomorrow. BTW - if you have not already pick up the May 2005 "Computer Games" magazine. They do a nice write up on the Aurora 7500 SLI.

I hope you do get good news--mine went from Phase 9 to Phase 14 today and when I spoke with a rep the other day they told me that they were working on (Good) Friday.

Thats awesome, Maybe I will call them tomorrow and see if there are any hold-ups on any of the parts...and if so, I wonder if they'll let me switch out for the NVida...(thats so sac religious of me to say) but I'm getting a bit impatient about it...and the more I'm on here and see people getting it faster than me, the mroe impatient I get. Plus, I leave in a week to Dallas for bidness, and I need the laptop.

Sorry, man. Maybe it's got something to do with it being a laptop? In any event, definitely call--they should be able to give you an answer as to what is the holdup, and unless it's a missing part I'm not sure why you'd be stuck in phase 9 for so long.

I also have a FedEx question--my Aurora is due to be delivered this Saturday. Of course, I'm going across state to visit my folks over the Easter holiday so I won't be here. I live in a small apartment building (renovated National Guard Armory, actually). They're not actually going to leave my $3000+ computer on the doorstep, are they? (And Alienware has the non-distinctive boxes that don't reveal what's in it, of course...)

I looked around the FedEx site but that's the most user-unfriendly site I've seen in a while--all the support is geared to the shipper, not the shippee. My job's pretty flexible so I can work Monday at home if I need to, but I'm just terrified at them delivering the system to my front door and me not being here for 36 hours or so. (The only reason I had it delivered here and not the office was because I drive a small car and there's no way I could fit the thing inside it but now I'm regretting that decision--I could have always borrowed somebody's car. It's always something. )

Acutally what will happen is they will leave a door tag ..and then when you come back you can go and pick it up...or they will have another scehdualed delivery date...perhaps next monday
post #33 of 49
No, from what I remember others saying, you must sign for it to take delivery. Should be no worries about it being left on the doorstep.
Yeah, very true, but in most cases they would leave a door tag, informing you of the delivery...in most cases that would leave you with the option of picking it up on your own or they would deliver it again.

You might be further west - it seems to take a few more days for FedEx to arrive in the western states. One last weekend to go!
yeah that is true, But I wish it wasn't that way

Bleh, I am as far away as possible from Miami without being in Alaska or Hawaii...Seattle Washington.

Oh well.
