How can Sony justify that?! Honestly, and the 9300 will beat both in gaming. So you don't game, then why spend $2000 CDN on a laptop?!
Also, you can adjust the Dell screen for digital vibrance and sharpness.
The Sony is better, brighter is always better, especially in extreme sunlight, but the dell is just fine

I have seen Sony XBrite, and it owns Dell. Overall, I like the sony screen better. However, the light leackage on the my friend's Sony is a lot more apparent than my current dell screen.

Honestly, the Dell looks slightly better, but it's hard to tell. They both look the same in most pics.

The Sony's better in Windows, the Dell's better in-game. The brightness of that Sony is great, but in games, you get a better look if you turn the brightness down a little bit. I did that in HL2 with my Toshiba TruBrite (which is basically identical to Sony quality) and the games look amazing--lots of richness to the colours.

Sorry guys but pictures of lcds taken with a digicam is no basis for comparison.

I don't know whether these sony apologists or something but apparently the Dell does look better. How can yous say the Sony looks better when the pictures look so washed out?

The Sony just looks like they ramped up the digital vibrance. My friend has a VAIO, the screen is very dramatically brighter (the eyes begin to hurt immediately when looking at it in even a decently well lit room). The colours seem more artificial and less organic than Dell. My previous post in this thread was prior to my friend purchasing the laptop.

Next time you compair two laptop LCDs, make sure both screens are on the same angle. If not, the pictures dont come out and the results are deceiving.

I think that both are the same ......... both has there own advantages and disadvantages...... but personally i like the Sony.
