Returned my i6000, ordered i9300 with 35% discount + $300 coupon on DELL AUS - Page 2

BTW ... the offers on the 9300 on that crazy weekend were (AFAIK):
- Free upgrade from 128MB X300 to 256MB GF Go 6800 graphics (incidentally the Dell rep suggested that if I wanted the notebook now, I could downgrade to the X300 and they'll chop $100 off ... I said no, I'll wait thank you very much!) ... savings of $620
- Free 3 year theft cover upgrade and bundling of SupportPlan with 3 year Collect and Return ... savings of $288
- 33% cash off ... savings of $1286

Total saving of $2194 AUD ... man I feel sorry for those who ordered fully specced out 9300's the Friday before these offers came out ... heh ... did I miss any other offers (apart from the $300 off)?

The offer was so hot to resist, so i send back my i6000 (by the way, the graphic sucks on i6000 (pentium M 2.0 760, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, with the 128 MB ATI x300, in fact, my i600m with the 64 MB ATI radeon 9000, Pentium M 1.5 Ghz, 512 MB RAM was able to play most games comfortably or even better than i6000) which i got last week (worth AUD $3000) and order this (33% discount) awesome offer (weekend offer in Australia) + the Geforce 6800 go

Would love to read other australians who got the last weekend offer...

What's your status on the online tracker? Is it still 29?
Yes, still shows shipping date as 29 March, incidentally, colour kit shipping date is 1 April, so either my order wasn't affected by the shortage or they just haven't updated the page

Ugh, it makes me worry. Mine also shown as 29 March and stuck on "In Production" stage ...

I spec'd a 9300 and saved the cart on Thursday, ($3700) went to buy on Saturday but the price was $4200. Retrieved the cart and placed the $3700 order on Saturday. Checked prices on Sunday and the same 9300 but with a faster processor and better video card was $3300. Cancelled the order on Monday and re-ordered. What a deal. Checked price on Tuesday. $5300 Aus. Oh no!

BTW, does anyone know if there's a number that we can call to check on order status? The U.S. Dell store seems to have an automated telephone system that can tell you what build stage the order is in, e.g. building, kitting, etc. The live humans at the call centre don't have a clue. .

no clue on that, but if there is one, it will be much easier to keep track than calling those live DELL people
