Sentia reviews from other sources

I was wondering why are there so many bad reviews about the alienware sentia? I just bought one, and I'm getting scared even before I get it. CNET gives it a 6.4 out of 10. Some people that reviewed it on CNET gives the Sentia some 1's and 2's, what's up with that? The main focus of those reviews is that the Sentia arrives with some hardware and software issues. And also that Alienware's support is terrible. Does this have some truth to it? Thanks.

Support is great; It sometimes seems as though they've hired the entire hispanic population of florida to do their tech/customer service, but they are knowlegeable, and they do speak English very well(just with an accent is all, and not a bad one at that.)
As for the computer itself, you will love it. Alienware is often given a bad rep by such places as cnet, but if you go to the high-end places(PC-Gamer, etc.) You'll find nothing but good from 'em. As for the users opinion there: Discount the really bad ones, they're usually posted by those who just have a grudge against AW, or rival companies; Many have never even seen an AW computer, much less owned one.

Orale

The internet is a great place to come and vent so people who feel that they have been mislead or mistreated by a company come here to exact whatever small revenge that they can. Don't be swayed by other folks' misfortune in life! Alienware is a great company to deal with and yes, they are all latino\a but so what?!! Have you ever been to Miami? I lived there in the eigthies and even then there were ENTIRE neighborhoods where everyone was Hispanic and all the signs and billboards around town were in Spanish. Nowadays the population is still overwhelmingly Chicano and its a really exotic spot >>> cancel that Rio trip and head off to Miami instead! Picture yourself in Little Havana, eating fried plantains(sic) and sipping rum while the sun goes down over the horizon... *sigh* Roll on spring, baby!!!

Kevin, I wouldn't worry.

For one thing, CNet has the reputation of dirt in reviewing products. They constantly make huge errors in the reviews like not testing like products, and they make no effort to clean out troll user reviews. Go look at any review of a version of Windows or of a Pocket PC, many of the reviews are obvious trolling.

Check out the reviews here. The Sentia is a pocket bomber that will, in every area but the vid card, literally run rings around other similar systems.

As to AW support, I have not yet had occasion to use it. What I can say is that the AW folks here are first class, and Mario the sales rep who did my system order was both courteous and knew his stuff well.

I feel much better about my purchase!

Thanks for all the responses and support! Can't wait till my Sentia gets here. Right now it's in phase 3.
