Why does Alienware always pop up when there's a big new competitor? If they were so sure of their systems being the best then they wouldn't need to constantly compare and check each individual competitor nor
lie about the specifications of the XPS2 on their comparison page.
Simply put, AW is an awful company. They charge too much, have very poor service and quality control, and have ugly laptops that they try to pass off as monster gaming machines. Why anyone would even consider them before Sager or Hypersonic is ridiculous. Save some money and some time, don't buy AW. They're behind on specifications, performance, and build (they don't have those cool LED's

you know that's that they're most upset about; no one over at AW ever though of modding their system like the Dells), and they cost way more than a competitive Sager or Hypersonic which both provide better choices.
AW is marketing hype. Dell is not perfect either (the wal-mart of computers X_X) but in this case Dell has the upper hand when you sit back and look at all the specifications and benchmarks.
AW wants to disregard things like 3dMark scores when they've always used them to compare their systems, but now that there's someone higher 3dMark and others are suddenly not applicable. It's a Desperate attempt to make people think you're the best when you're really not. I've used 2 AW laptops and a Desktop and I could never justisfy the cost. Not to say I'd buy Dell all the time either because I think they're cheap and junky.
EDIT: They do make a good point about the original XPS dropping off the face of the planet now and it's not too old. However, I'm not into dumping thousands of dollars into systems year after year. I want to best and then I'm going to walk away for a few years (2 minimum).
