Is there really any screen size good for gaming?

Either it be 17 in. or 15 in. do you guys find flaws in playing games on a 15 in. laptop screen? My monitor now is 17 inches and I like it cause it just gives a bigger perspective but I've never really computed on a 15 in. screen. Any thoughts?

The only thing that would give a bigger perspective is a higher resolution, not screen size.

true, although frames per second drops as screen resolution is increased.

15" SXGA is WAY bette for gamming than a 15.4" Wide since you probably wont be playing in your native resolution on the wide screen

Except for the games that support widescreen, and then gaming is sweet.

yeah UT and UT2K4 support WXGA res's so that kicks ass!! same with HL2

I'd say there are fewer new games that don't support widescreens than you think. I think 1680x1050 is a better resolution than WUXGA right now though if you game...hard to drive much higher than that with any card currently available (with AA and AF anyway).

You should also be sitting closer to the notebook screen than a monitor on your desktop, so that helps with the smaller size.

I dunno... I prefer to play games in a smaller resolution, as the textures at higher resolutions tend to become grainy or blocky. (I know this is partially a result of graphics rendering, but I feel it should be said) I personally play most games at 800x600 or 1024x768, just because that's what I've always played them in. Comfort thing I guess. With the new TV tuners though, even video games on systems are transporting to these huge resolutions, making the need for better high resolution support a must... but something that many games don't support. (Or support... badly I guess you could say)
