Mayhem for superior performance (check out review here)

Sager for much better battery life (check out review of same product rebranded here)

Asus Z71v for BOTH! Okay, I'm slightly biased because I ordered one, but I've looked at both of the notebooks you're considering, and I could get all the features of both notebooks for a lower price than either. (okay, the price may be just a little higher than the 3790) How can you beat that?

Yes, especially if you have one of those great coupons that Dell releases periodically. But if you don't have the coupon, it's not as cost-effective (more expensive) than the Asus Z71v. Also, the ATi x600 graphics card in the Dell (which has roughly the same performance as the 9700 in the ABS and Sager models you mentioned) is not as powerful as the Nvidia 6600 in the Asus.

no, it's new. It's officially being released next week. You can find it on http://www.istnc.com/store, http://www.proportable.com, and http://www.agearnotebooks.com. Each of these stores is an authorized Asus reseller.

Hmm this laptop seems pretty nice, where else can I find some pictures or pre-reviews of it?

anyone else have any thoughts? I a little concerned that all 3 of these may be to big to carry on a daily basis. What do you think?
