Dell 9300 - Page 2

That is just the thing that keeps me looking at the other makers! A second HD. Dell does not have it! I would get it in a heartbeat and put 2 60s in it, but NOOOO!

As far as waiting for the 7200 100Gig, I bet it will be $$, and I am investing all of that in it from the start. Don't get me wrong, I would add if if saved, but this isn't saving...

Is there really going to be all that big a difference? Just loading right? Not game play or other things? And then what are we talking about, say Halo... 7200 would load in about 20 seconds, and 5400 in about 40 seconds??? is it that simple?

I am going to save my $50 now and get more space, then upgrade to the 100GB HDD when it is released. Now I will have a total of 180GB of HDD storage for my laptop, plus have saved $50 initially.
Will you be able to fit 2 HD's on the 9300? Or is it going to be external?

I thought about the TV Tuner, but don't you need to have a Media Center XP in order to run the full capability? But either way, the laptop is going to be strictly for school, games and DVD in my situation...

The 80GB would have to be external. I just run those in a firewire box on my network. That way I do not have to hook it up to my laptop and be "bound".

Here is kinda what I am talking about.

I do not know which drives Dell uses, but the 80GB 5400RPM HDD scored on par with the 60GB 7200RPM HDD. I realize that the 7k60 outscored the 80GB, but it is not the anal raping everyone believes. 20GB is alot of storage. I like to download stuff so the extra storage is welcome. Plus I want the 100GB HDD that benifits from density and speed, so it is definetly better for me to get the slightly slower 80GB now and save $50.

I noticed that the graphic card is not a Go6800 Ultra that the XPS2 has. Is it a big difference between the 2? About how much of a difference is it?

I hear everything from 10 % to 25-30 %.

I would keep the 6-cell primary battery and get a second 9-cell battery. $30 more, but then you get two batteries, use the 9 as primary and the 6 as back up.
