Here's mine with *** for comparison:

Intel Pentium M 750 Processor (1.86GHz/533MHz FSB)
*** 1.6GHz

17 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen XGA+ Display
*** ditto

Video Card: 256MB NVIDA GeForce Go 6800
*** ditto

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
*** XP Pro (+$150)

Wireless: Wireless 1450 Internal Wireless (802.11a/b/g, 54Mbps)
*** Intel 2915 abg (same $)

Battery: 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery (53 WHr)
*** 9 cell -- can't recall +$40? Really recommend this btw

Hardware Support Services: 3 Yr Return-to-Depot Service
*** 1 yr

Wireless Personal Networking Card: Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal(2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
*** ditto

8X DVD Bunner
*** ditto

80gig HD
*** 100 gig

1 gig DDR2
*** 512

*** Adobe Elements +$20
*** MS Office Basic +$150
*** free printer

$2,942.34 CANADIAN with taxes and shipping
*** $2564 before taxes

If I subtract the extras I got compared to you, that's
C$2204 before taxes with the 1.6GHz, 1yr service, 100GB
versus 80GB for your hard drive.

I'd say the price is high - maybe pushed up by the
1GB RAM (Dell charges through the nose for RAM)
and slightly faster cpu speed. There will be a faster
set of cpus available in the next half year -- I intend
to buy a fastish 2GHz or so when the prices drop.

I have the 9300 now. I am very happy with it -- it's
an excellent machine. My WXGA+ has almost no light
leakage, no sparkles and looks great. Not as good as
the Sony screen, but still quite good. And the sound
is amazing for a laptop -- I don't know if I'm just
used to being around the older laptop lot, but wow.
When playing music, this thing gets a lot of attention
from passersby. People unfamiliar with laptops are
impressed by the display -- it is good and I am
satisfied but it is not top-of-class.

I called Dell Canada (a.k.a. Dell india) and basically told them what I wanted and how much I was willing to pay. Couple days later, they accepted the deal.
